Performance Arts Centre and Housing

This project was developed with David Walsh to revive an existing performance space and add housing units for artists.

The concert space was placed in the basement so that it could open out to an exterior amphitheatre. The first floor would be retail space and the upper four floors would provide twenty-two one bedroom units. The upper floors step back to mediate between the existing three-storey homes and the tall buildings on Bloor Street.

The front of the building is traditional red clay brick with terra cotta reliefs of notable neighbourhood activists and folk singers.
